Good Morning Everyone!!
This week was fabulous!!! We stuffed our faces at Thanksgiving, took around tons of cookies and heart attacked a lot of people to show our appreciation, went to the zoo last Monday, and all sorts of other things that I can't remember because it was such a full week!!
Highlight of the Week
We have been teaching a woman named Beth that Sister King first found a few months before I got here. They taught her off and on but things got crazy and they could never get her to come to church or read the Book of Mormon. We have gone back a few times but could never have a lesson until this last Wednesday night. We read a chapter from the Book of Mormon with her and asked her some questions which got her to really open up and she even started crying. She really wants to change her life and create a relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ she just doesn't know how to do it.

Then all of a sudden we started telling her about the gospel library app that you can get on your phone and she was so excited about it and had us download it and teach her how to use it!! She also invited herself to church! So
Saturday afternoon we went back just to check and make sure she was still good to come to church and she said that she was really looking forward to it! And she had been listening to the Book of Mormon on her phone and was really enjoying it! She came to church yesterday and stayed for all 3 hours which we forgot to inform her about. She loved it and was absolutely beaming by the end! We are planning on meeting with her twice this week and can hopefully get her to come to our ward Christmas party this Saturday!

It was such a miracle and we are both really excited about her! I love her so much and can't wait to see what happens!!! :)

Love you all and have a wonderful week!!! :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

This past week has been great! The highlight was that we sang and spoke in church yesterday!!! We invited tons and tons of people to come and only one person showed up and she isn't super interested. We were kind of bummed but we did our song and talks and it all went well. Then afterwards someone came up to us and thanked us for inviting him. I didn't recognize him but he introduced himself and we realized he was someone that we didn't really know but was a friend of someone we invited so we invited him as well! It was crazy because he was the least likely to have come out of anyone and he showed up!

He absolutely loved it and is actually friends with some members and was able to sit with them for sacrament. We got his information and are going to go by sometime this week to teach him and get to know him a little bit better! He was super nice and friendly and very interested in learning more so we are excited about that! It was definitely a miracle and we were grateful for it! Other than that, not too much has been happening lately but we are still working hard and doing our best and Heavenly Father is definitely providing!! :)
Sorry such a short email today!!! I love you all and am grateful to have you in my life!!

Have a wonderful week!! :)
Love,
   Sister Britni Johnson :)

Happy Winter Everyone!!!! :)
Quote of the Week "Discipleship is the pursuit of holiness and happiness. It is the path to our best and happiest self."

I have found this to be true 100%! I have never been happier or better than on my  mission and I am so grateful for the joy and happiness I have been able to discover in myself and the many blessings I receive each and every day!!!
Highlight of the Week The highlight of the week was all the opportunities that are opening up on the Ohio Wesleyan University campus here in Delaware. We are really good friends with the head chaplain there and he invited us to a religious forum/event thing last week. One of the students was doing a project so essentially there were about 30 or 40 people and we were all split up into groups of about 5 or 6. We got together and discussed different questions such as how did you develop your faith or religious traditions, are there any misconceptions about your religion, where did you morality derive from and so on. The discussions were incredible and it was so good for us because we were able to clear up a lot of misconceptions and help people to see we are still normal people.

We also talked to a few people that are strong in their faith in Christ but don't really know what else they believe and we got some phone numbers so we are hoping to meet with them this week. This event was so incredible and it made us even more excited for an event coming up this Thursday called Speed Faithing. So it is basically like speed dating but with religions and we are really excited because we think it will be a perfect opportunity to get our name out there and share more about our beliefs!!! It's gonna be great and I will report about that next week! :)

Miracle of the Week
We got a call from the other day from a member in Kentucky and she told us about her friends Stephanie and Jason who just moved into our ward boundaries. They aren't members but they have learned a little bit in the past and are willing to have us come over! We are going over tonight to help them paint and stuff and then hopefully we can set up for us to go by and teach them soon! They also have 3 kids and the member said it is basically only a matter of time before they join the church because they are absolutely incredible people!!

Scripture of the Week
So our mission has a monthly newsletter and it is tradition for the missionaries who are leaving that month to put their testimony in it. So I submitted mine today and I wanted to share it with you all! :)

"Behold, how many (hundreds) of our brethren has he loosed from the pains of hell; and they are brought to sing redeeming love, and this because of the power of his word which is in us, therefore have we not great reason to rejoice?"
Alma 26:13
There is nothing that has brought me greater joy in life than serving my Father in Heaven and bringing my brothers and sisters unto Him. I have truly found myself among these wonderful people here in the Ohio. Words can't begin to express my gratitude and wonder at the changes I have seen in myself and the countless spiritual experiences I have had. I know my Heavenly Father and my Savior so much more personally than ever before and I feel them with me always!

"Now have we not great reason to rejoice? Yea, I say unto you, there never were men (and women) that had so great reason to rejoice as we, since the world began." Alma 26:35

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Have a wonderful week and remember to rejoice in all things!!! :)

Good Morning everyone!!!!

This week was fabulous!!

The main highlight was I finished the Book of Mormon once again on my mission and it was incredible! I took Moroni's challenge again to reaffirm my testimony and the next day we spent basically the entire day testifying about the book of Mormon. It was really cool because it was Heavenly Father's way of answering my prayer by allowing and helping me to answer others prayers! He truly is amazing and I love him!!! The best part about it was the first lesson we had was with a man named William who has been reading the Book of Mormon for awhile now and Spent a decent amount of time bearing his own testimony about the Book of Mormon. He said that it has truly changed his life and saved him at a time that was most critical in his life. He is beginning to see the many ways he is being changed and blessed enormously through reading the Book of Mormon and it was the coolest thing to heat and be a part of!

Every time I hear someone I am teaching bear testimony and see the changes being made in their lives, it strengthens my testimony so much more than ever before and is solidly grounding me in the gospel and the things I know to be true with all my heart!! I love every part about being a missionary because I get to spend literally 24/7 thinking, pondering, praying, fasting, talking, teaching and testifying about our beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and how much he loves each and every one of us! This is seriously the best job in the entire world and I am eternally grateful for it!!! :)

Miracle of the Week
There is a couple in our ward where the woman is a member but her boyfriend is not. He has been coming to church for the last few months but the only hold up was they don't speak English and neither of us speak Spanish! But a member in our ward, who served a Spanish speaking mission, texted us yesterday and said she really feels like she needs to ask Carlos if he wants to of is willing to take the lessons. So we went over with her yesterday just for a minute and she asked him and he said yes! We are meeting with them tonight at 5 and I am so excited to see what happens! It will certainly be interesting because the member will be translating and I have never done this before on my mission but I am super excited and sure it will be an incredible experience!!! This is the miracle we have been praying for!!

Well, I love you all and hope things are going well! Have another fabulous week!! :)

Love always, Sister Johnson :)

November 3rd, 2014

Happy Halloween everyone!!!

So the verdict with transfers was that I got transferred and am now in Delaware, OH which is more the north part of the mission! And as you can see, Ohio is notorious for copying other places in the world instead of coming up with their own names! :) It's great though and I love it here! My new companion is Sister King and she is kind of amazing! We get along so well and we are already having a blast together! The one struggle is that we are both super spacey and forget things a lot so hopefully Heavenly Father can help us turn that weakness into a strength!!! :)

So this is it, the beginning of the end. I can't believe I only have 6 weeks left!! Everyone keeps asking me how long I have been out and then they freak out when they find out I am almost done and got transferred for my last 6 weeks! Then they start to talk all about home and ask me about my plans etc. It is so incredibly annoying seeing as I am still in denial that I am going home and completely refuse to think about it!

I have decided that I am going to take it day by day and live in the moment as much as possible. The most important thing in the world to me right now is finishing my mission as strong as possible and give it absolutely everything I have left! I want to be so exhausted out of my pants because that will be proof that I am giving it every last little bit I possibly have to give!!! I want nothing more than for my sacrifice to be acceptable to the Lord and to be able to say that I gave it my all! That I truly served Him with all my might, mind and strength and my whole soul!!! I am so excited because this is the perfect place to do it!

The ward is on fire, the members are incredible, our bishop is so unified with the work and Sister King has an incredible greenie fire! With her fire and my experience, we are gonna completely take off and not look back. She is truly a blessing because she is pushing and motivating me so much more than ever before! She is helping me reach potential I didn't even know I had and I have had it confirmed to me over and over that this is where I need to be! I can't believe who I have become and what is happening to me but I am changing so much and I love every second of it!! This life truly is the time to prepare to meet God and I feel that every second of everyday as I prepare and push myself to no end!!! Life is so great and I am so grateful and excited to live up every single last possible second on my mission! I have not felt this kind of drive in a long time and it feels so rejuvenating and empowering!!!! I love the Lord with everything I have and I am willing to sacrifice everything I have and am for Him and this great work!!!

I am so excited to work my little butt off and be able to start sharing the miracles and different things that I know will happen in this area!!! Things are super good and I am absolutely lovin life here in good ol' Ohio!! I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week! Keep pushing forward and remember "Above all, never lose faith in your Father in Heaven who loves you more than you can comprehend!!!" :)

Love always, Sister Britni Johnson :)

October 27th, 2014

Hello everyone!!
This last week was super duper good!!!! We taught Jason the Plan of Salvation and put him on date to get baptized on November 15th!!! His 9 year old son (Landon)  also really wants to get baptized and has been reading the kids version of the Book of Mormon and loves what he is learning! We are hoping to get permission from Landon's mom to start teaching him and then hopefully Jason can get the priesthood soon and baptize him! That would be like the coolest thing ever!!

Other exciting news! I found out that someone I taught in Madison Lake almost the entire time I was there is finally quitting smoking and is scheduled to get baptized on November 22nd, 2014! All kinds of exciting things happening here!

Lastly, another set of sisters in our zone met a girl named Aligia at Wal-mart last week. They found out they lived in our area so they set up for us to go by and teach them which didn't work out. But they invited them to church this Sunday so that morning we went by to take them muffins for breakfast and have them follow us to church. We ended up being 20 minutes late to church and missing the sacrament but it was awesome because not only did Aligia and her boyfriend come, but her boyfriend's parents decided they wanted to come as well so we had a whole slew of people at church with us!

They really liked it and want to come back next Sunday! It was super awesome and we ended up getting the sacrament after church so that was good too. It was super cool thought because so many members of the ward came up to introduce themselves to Aligia and her family and I really think it made a difference because they felt really welcome and loved by so many complete strangers!!

Things are still going great here and I am actually really enjoying being on a bike every other week! It gives me the opportunity to get some exercise, fresh air, and enjoy the beautiful fall colors and fall weather!! Life is sooooo good!!!!!

Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!! :)

October 20, 2014

Hello everyone!!
There is so much to write this week that I don't really know where to begin. Last week I had like the best week ever!!
Monday - We had interviews with our mission president!

Tuesday - I got to go back to Xenia on an exchange and I saw a lot of people I taught and knew really well!

Wednesday - We had our first lesson with Jason. I think I talked a little about Jason last time. He is a really good friend of a family in our ward, the Gullions. He has been reading the Book of Mormon for the last 2 months and just finished Helaman a few days ago. He has come to church for the last 5 Sundays in a row and we finally started teaching him. We had our first lesson on Wednesday and it went so well!!! I am super excited about teaching him. Then Wednesday night we got permission from our mission president to go with a member of our ward to get her patriarchal blessing for support and stuff. It was super awesome and I am so glad I was able to be a part of it!!

Thursday - We went to the temple!!!!! It was so beautiful and uplifting and I have definitely been needing it for quite awhile now!! I love the temple so much! Thursday night we taught Jason again and extended baptism and he accepted!!

Friday - nothing huge happened on Friday

Satruday - The elders in our ward had a baptism and Jason came!! We did a chapel tour right before and invited him to pray about baptism.

Sunday - Jason and his 3 boys came to church. It was the primary program and his 9 and 5 year old were able to participate which was awesome!!!

Today - I got a random package in the mail. It was from the Morris family in Arizona. Basically, this woman (Lori) has a son serving in our mission and she emailed our mission president's wife and said she would like to get to know some of the other missionaries serving here in our mission. So the mission president's wife, Sister Daines, gave her my name and address and she sent me a package full of candy and super cute Halloween stuff!!! It made my whole day and topped off an incredible week!!!

Heavenly Father has been spoiling me so much lately but I am so incredibly grateful for every bit of it!! I know he is aware of each of us and is watching over us!! He has all kinds of blessings ready to shower down on each of us, our duty is to have faith and trust in Him and allow Him to lead, guide and bless us in every aspect of our lives!! I am so grateful to be here on my mission and for all the things I am learning day after day!! The church is true and we are so incredibly blessed to be a part of it!!!

I love you all and hope you have a fabulous week full of happiness and love!!!

Love always, Sister Britni Johnson :)

Hello!!!
So I have like no time this week so super quick updates!!
I popped a tire on our car on Wednesday. On Saturday I had a major pain in my butt that we decided must have been a pinched nerve but it prevented me from even being able to walk. So we had to stay in and I had to get crutches so I didn't have to keep hopping around our apartment. Sunday morning I was still on crutches for church but after church we came home and took a 4 hour nap and when I woke up I was totally fine again and everything was great! Super random but funny at the same time! :)
Miracle for the Week
We have a family in our ward that has been working with a friend and he has been coming to church for the last 5 weeks. They came up to us yesterday and asked us to come over to dinner with them on Wednesday to start teaching him!! He is super duper awesome and we are so excited to start teaching him!! It's gonna be great and I will definitely update you next week!!!

Lastly, we get to go to the temple on Thursday and I am so excited I can hardly contain myself!!!
Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!!!
Love always, Sister Johnson

Me washing my hair cuz I obviously couldn't shower!

Hello everyone!!!!

Happy conference weekend!!!!! It was so good and I know I was basically in heaven all weekend because it was just so good!

Not too much happened this last week except the fact that it has gotten cold quickly and winter is certainly coming quickly!

Miracles of the Week
1. We were teaching the Plan of Salvation to a family where the father is a little less active and their 10 year old daughter decided to invite her friend Nora over for the lesson as well. We ended up teaching it specifically to her and she absolutely loved it! She was asking all kinds of questions and was really excited about learning.

Becca (the member friend) brought her to church last Sunday and gave her a copy of the Book of Mormon and has been reading it with her. It was incredible to see how in tune with the Spirit she is and how much sense it all made to her at 10 years old. She is absolutely amazing and I love her! It was a very fun experience for all of us.

2. We went on a mini exchange with the Xenia sisters on Friday which means it only lasted a few hours. Sister Rose stayed in our area with Sister Hansen and it was awesome because they met a super cool guy who was taught a little bit by missionaries before but it never really went anywhere. He is really interested now and is actually a neighbor of a member and really looks up to and respects them. It was very exciting for Sister Rose because it's the first person she has found to teach without me with her so it was a little bit of personal success for her that really helped her to grow in confidence and excitement!!
This week was wonderful and topped off so well with conference!

Oh also, on Tuesday we got to see a special screening of the Meet the Mormons movie and it is sooooo good!! I cried and loved every second of it! I am so excited to see all the amazing things that will come out of it!

Well I love you all and hope you have a happy and safe week!!! :)
Love always, Sister Britni Johnson :)

September 29th, 2014

Happy end of September everyone!!!

This week was really good aside from the fact that I was sick all week. But after resting off and on and taking it a little slower, I am finally back up to par and ready to attack this coming week!! :) Things were a little interesting on bikes at first but I have been so blessed to be able to conquer my weakness and it is now turning into a strength! We are getting really good exercise and there are so many more opportunities to talk to people and do random acts of service on a bike than in a car.

Quotes of the Week
"Don't tell God how big your storm is...tell the storm how big your god is."

"We sacrifice what we love and we love what we sacrifice for."

These 2 quotes have been really applicable to me lately, no matter what happens, we can't let anything get us down! I am learning to see trials as an opportunity to grow and to show my love for the Lord and what I am willing to sacrifice to become more like Him and a true disciple of Him!!

Miracles of the Week
We were running a little late on Tuesday for dinner and needed to bike home but we went to visit a less active member and her mom was outside trimming the bushes. Her mom is a nonmember and she is also a little older so it takes a lot out of her to trim the bushes. I jumped off my bike and immediately started helping her and she taught me how to trim them properly and let me do it for her. Afterwards she was so grateful and really wanted to pay us but I told her we can't accept money and the joy of being able to serve and help her was payment enough. She was so grateful and I am excited because it was a super good opportunity to build trust with her and help her see that we care and want to help!

The second miracle is that Nicole came to church again! We went over on Sunday to help her paint and take care of some things around the house and that cleared up her Sunday morning so that she was able to come to church again and she loved it!! Her kids were super excited to go to primary and nursery again and she enjoyed Sunday school and relief society!!

There are so many blessings everywhere I look and I am so completely overcome with love and appreciation towards my Heavenly Father! He is truly amazing and is helping and guiding us every step of the way in His work! I am excited to tackle this week and see what miracles are just waiting to happen!! Thanks again for all the love and support! I am truly blessed with the most amazing people in my life! :)

Love you all and have a fantastic week!! :)

Love, Sister Britni Johnson :)

Me on my bike! I know I look great!! :)
They put a little red thing on my nose and thought it was the funniest thing that I looked like a clown! :)

September 22nd, 2014

Hello everyone!!!
Not too much happened since last Wednesday. On Friday I spent the day with another sister who had pneumonia while our companions went out and taught a bunch of lessons. That was fun until I ended up getting sick so it has been a little rough these past few days. But that's ok, we are still doing our best and having fun at the same time!! :)

Miracle #1
Nicole
is a woman we have been teaching pretty much the whole time I have been here and she came to church yesterday!! We went over to her house on Saturday and helped her clean out her pool and everything. Then we did a ton of winterizing stuff and it was super fun. We invited her to church and she ended up coming and stayed for the whole 3 hours which is huge for her!!! She absolutely loved it and her 2 boys loved it as well! She is going to come with us to the general women's meeting this Saturday and hopefully church again on Sunday!!!

Miracle #2
So yesterday after dinner I got a huge migraine and I was feeling super sick and tired. But we had a lesson we needed to go teach with this girl named Kylie. We go to teach her and she lets us in and we had a super stellar lesson with her!! She really wants to find the right church for her but gave up after awhile because she couldn't find it and then life got in the way. She is super nice and was so grateful for us teaching her and giving her a Book of Mormon. We answered a lot of questions and the whole time my head didn't hurt at all which was such a blessing!!! We are teaching her again next Sunday and I am so excited because she is definitely ready and sincerely interested!! :)

There were also 2 members in our ward who each brought nonmember friends to church yesterday that both really enjoyed it as well! Overall it was a totally awesome Sunday and I was so excited about the little blessings and tender mercies of the Lord we have been able to see lately! :)

Things are still great! It's getting a little cold and I have been breaking out my winter stuff but I don't mind at all! :) I'm still loving life and having a blast!! Hope you all have another fantabulous week!!

Love always,
Sister Britni Johnson

September 17th, 2014

Hello everyone!

So this weeks letter is going to be kind of short because they ran out laptops at he library here so I am using and iPad which is super annoying to type on especially when you are used to a regular keyboard.

Anyways, things have been super good this week! A little cold but still great!

Miracle #1We were finally able to meet with a lady named Karen Backo who is the friend of a member that we have been trying to meet with for like 2 months. We had an incredible lesson with her. We were able to answer a lot of questions and concerns that she had and the spirit was absolutely amazing!! We taught her all about the Book of Mormon and gave her one to read and study. And she invited herself to church because she loved everything we taught so much. She is a super awesome lady that has been searching for something her whole life and just have never found it. I am so excited to help her realize that's this gospel is what she has been searching for this whole time! I asks super excited to teach her!!

Miracle #2:
We finally had someone come to church for he first time since sister rose has been here. So Erick, the guy we were teaching for awhile but lost contact with for about 2 months, randomly showed up to church the other day! He was like 30 minutes late so we didn't see home come in but he was only late because he had to walk to church! He also came after working like all night! I am, so glad he came because everything was so perfect for him and the circumstances he is in. It was a pretty great week and we are just having so much fun!!

Oh and I almost forgot, we got transfer calls today and sister rose and I are both staying here in Fairborne! I am excited because we have a lot of potential popping up here lately and I and definitely grateful for all the blessings we have been able to see!

Anyways, that's pretty much it for this week! I will write more next week for sure and send some pics! I have no clue how to send pics on this iPad thing so we will just wait for next week! Love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!!!

Love always,

Sister Britni Johnson

September 8th, 2014

Good afternoon everyone!!
Scripture of the Week
 Alma 32:27-28

It's so exciting to see that as I have given the Book of Mormon and other scriptures a place in my heart, they have swelled into a burning testimony and now I truly do hunger and thirst after the scriptures and anything Heavenly Father has for me to learn! It is incredibly delicious to me and all I want to do is study gospel things all day everyday!! It's the best!!

So this week was a bit of a struggle. We locked our keys and our phone in our car on Tuesday and had to have a member call AAA roadside assistance to come help us. Then yesterday, we locked our keys in our trunk and the lever inside the car doesn't work to unlock it. So we had to call the senior missionary couple in charge of the vehicles had to drive an hour and a half from Columbus here to Fairborn to bring the spare and unlock it for us. And lastly, we heard that starting next week, we are going to be sharing cars across the mission. So for example, the elders in our area don't currently have a car so for 1 week they would get the car and we would be stuck on bikes and then the next week we would swap and we would get the car and they would be on bikes. This will definitely be interesting considering the fact that I am terrible at riding a bike especially in a skirt but I am kind of excited because it will make like really interesting and I am sure I will have tons of funny stories to tell everyone regarding our adventures!!! So we had some serious bad luck but we also had some great experiences!! The work is finally starting to pick back up again and it is a great blessing!!

Miracle of the Week
So we went to a Chinese buffet on Friday and we were with the elders in our area and we were all eating and enjoying our food when the girl that was kind of waiting on us complimented me on my dress. She was super sweet and I really wanted to give her a card. Everyone told me to go for it so I go over to her and it was perfect because she had just sat down to have lunch and so I went up and sat across from her. I started asking her questions like if she believes in God and stuff like that. She told me she has only been in the US fro a little over a month and everyone in her village somewhere in Asia all believe in Buddha but she wants to find faith in God.

We had a wonderful conversation and I felt the spirit so strong which was funny considering we were sitting in a buffet. I got her phone number and tried to set up a time to meet with her but it was hard because she is really busy and didn't understand everything I was saying. We settled on us texting her this week to set up a time to meet up with her and she is really excited to meet with us again!! She was super duper sweet and I am so grateful Heavenly Father blessed me with the opportunity to talk to her and that I took the opportunity! It was something so simple and small and yet so profound for me and really helped me to know that I was in the right place and the right time and listened to the Spirit!!

Other miracle:
We met the daughter of a less active member on our way to the member's house. She was super nice and social and started telling us about how the elders were supposed to go by and teach her the other day but she was sleeping and missed it. Then she started saying how she felt a little awkward with them coming by and trying to teach and she would be a lot more comfortable if it were girls. So we got her information and then called the elders immediately. I apologized but they were very graceful and said we could totally teach her!! they think we will fit better with her anyways and they are willing to do whatever it takes to help her feel comfortable and learn about these things! It was really nice of them and I am super excited to start teaching her because she has a lot of potential and she is hilarious!! I love her already!!!!

Things are great and I am still lovin life and livin it up here in good ol' Fairborn!! I love you all and hope you have a fabulous week!!! :)

Love always,
Sister Johnson :)

Happy Belated Labor Day!! :)

Thoughts for the Week
2 Timothy 1:6-8, It talks about not being ashamed of the gospel. I always thought that was a little weird because who would be ashamed to be a member. Then I realized that there have been times where I wasn't necessarily ashamed but I was definitely quiet and closed about what I believe in. Not being ashamed also means being open and bold about the things that you believe in. If you truly believe in Jesus Christ, it will show in your actions, words and everything that you do. Most of the time, the best missionary work is done by being a true disciple of Christ through loving people, serving people and being a good example to all who see you. There's no need to try to convince people the church is true because when they actually see it in action and feel it from the love and spirit you carry with you, they will know it's true and they will want if for themselves. I am so grateful for my testimony and the courage my mission has taught me, to not be afraid or ashamed to share the love and light the gospel brings to us and our families! :)

Story of the Week
So Elder Peterson and Elder Simkins in our ward are teaching a little 9 year old girl who is the granddaughter of less active members. Her name is Tayleigh and she is almost completely blind. She has some super magnifying glasses that make it so she can see general shapes but everything is pretty much a blur. So they asked us to help them figure out a creative way to teach her the plan of salvation using the senses she does have. So after some pondering we came up with the idea to have a life size plan of salvation game kind of like the game of life. The board was made out of colored shapes of paper placed on the floor between certain points that we all go through like pre-earth, earth, spirit world and the 3 kingdoms of glory.

So Tayleigh became the game piece and she walked through the game as we taught her about each of the points. We also had primary music playing in the back ground to help utilize her hearing as well. It went over incredibly well and she absolutely loved it!! Her reward for making it to the celestial kingdom was peanut butter blossoms that we made for her and her family! It was one of the most fun lessons I have taught in a while and it made me so excited to be a teacher in the future!

Miracle of the Week
Yesterday, as a district, all went to Young's Dairy which is a dairy farm turned into a family fun place. They have mini golf, batting cages, a driving range, a play place for kids and a corn maze. We started off with mini golf and some of the other activities, then everyone wanted to go to the driving range except for me and another sister so we decided to go to the corn maze. We get over there and start talking to the guy who is running it and then we start on our way. Pretty much the entire time through the corn maze, I just kept thinking about how we really need to go talk to the guy running the corn maze about the gospel. So we go through and end up getting completely and hopelessly lost for a good 30-45 minutes before finally making it back out. So we went up to talk to the guy (his name was Cody) and I just asked if we could give him a pass along card. He said sure so I started asking him questions about where he lives and what church he goes to.

We explained a little about the Book of Mormon and offered to bring him one. He said we could take him one while he was a t work another day but then I suddenly really wanted to give him one right then. The only dilemma was we had one in the car but it was on the complete opposite side of where we were at. So we ran the whole way across to our car and then ran back which took a good 10 minutes not to mention it was probably 90 degrees with 90%humidity outside! We went back and started to teach him the Restoration but we kept getting interrupted because he still had to do his job. But the coolest part was the only few minutes we had in peace was when we were teaching about the first vision and I was able to bear sincere and powerful testimony without getting interrupted at all. It was an incredible lesson and the spirit was strong and the best part is that it was right in front of a corn maze! We set up another teaching appointment and got his number to confirm it with him on Thursday.

It was so exciting because a few months ago, I never would have done that. But all of a sudden I am a changed missionary since conquering my fear of talking to people in public and it led to us giving him a Book of Mormon. It was the perfect end to a perfect day and I am so grateful for such an amazing miracle! It helped me so how much I have changed and grown and I was so glad that Heavenly Father was able to trust me with opening my mouth and sharing the gospel with Cody! It's amazing what can happen when we take a leap of faith and let Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ truly lead us and help us to grow!
Thank you all for the love and support!!! Have a fabulous week!! :P

Good afternoon everyone!!

Thought of the Week
I was reading a talk called pray always by David A. Bednar and it was super awesome so here's an excerpt:

“And now, behold, I say unto you, that these are the generations of the heaven and of the earth, when they were created, in the day that I, the Lord God, made the heaven and the earth,

“And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew. For I, the Lord God, created all things, of which I have spoken, spiritually, before they were naturally upon the face of the earth”  -Moses 3:4–5

We learn from these verses that the spiritual creation preceded the temporal creation. In a similar way, meaningful morning prayer is an important element in the spiritual creation of each day—and precedes the temporal creation or the actual execution of the day. Just as the temporal creation was linked to and a continuation of the spiritual creation, so meaningful morning and evening prayers are linked to and are a continuation of each other.
Consider this example. There may be things in our character, in our behavior, or concerning our spiritual growth about which we need to counsel with Heavenly Father in morning prayer. After expressing appropriate thanks for blessings received, we plead for understanding, direction, and help to do the things we cannot do in our own strength alone."
I love this thought so much! It really helped me understand how important morning prayer is. He talks about how our morning prayer helps us spiritually create our day before physically creating it by living it. It hit me how much more powerful and meaningful each and everyday can be if we truly live by this principle. I have started doing this for the past few days and I have seen a noticeable difference in my purpose and where my thoughts are directed. I continue to think about what ways I can improve and be better and in turn I am presented with so many more opportunities to learn and grow each day!
I also really liked the principles of prayer that he covers in this talk:
  • Reflect on those occasions when we have spoken harshly or inappropriately to those we love the most.
  • Recognize that we know better than this, but we do not always act in accordance with what we know.
  • Express remorse for our weaknesses and for not putting off the natural man more earnestly.
  • Determine to pattern our life after the Savior more completely.
  • Plead for greater strength to do and to become better
I think the reason this hit me so hard this week is because it was a new level of spiritual learning for me! I pray frequently, I exercise faith, I work hard and now I am learning to have meaningful prayers and truly converse with my Father in Heaven frequently.

There still isn't a ton going on lately but Heavenly Father has been answering my prayers in little ways here and there. I have been able to really conquer my fears. I had an incredible breakthrough this last week. I realized something, I am fully confident with knocking on doors, working with the members and teaching lessons, but I had a huge weakness: I was really struggling with just talking to people on the street or in public places because I was thinking about how awkward it might be or how I was scared of being rejected.

Then it hit me, this is exactly what Satan wants me to think to prevent me from reaching my full potential! Why do l even care what people think of me? Why am I so afraid? I am never going to see these people again in my life and what's the big deal if they reject me? I am here to be a missionary and that is what I need to do! So I had this new resolve and determination to talk to everyone I possibly can and show my willingness and faith to Heavenly Father.

That first day I talked to like 7 people and one of them was super interested and turned into a new investigator! It's amazing what a difference it made once I just made the choice to get over myself and face my fears! I am so grateful to be able to come to this point of turning this weakness into a strength because this has been a struggle for my entire mission and I wasn't sure if I would ever overcome it. I know Heavenly Father has answered my prayers and blessed me with the ability to continue to refine myself and turn weaknesses into strengths because I have been seeking for the opportunities through diligently praying sincerely and working hard to achieve it!

I never cease to be amazed at Heavenly Father's patience, love and desire to help me learn and become better no matter how long it takes or what struggles I go through in the process. He is always there right beside with his steady reassuring hand leading the way and picking me back up when I stumble or fall.

The only downside to this week actually happened this morning. So there I was running peacefully and enjoying the beautiful weather when before I know it I was face down on my hands and knees on the ground. My stupid foot decided to get caught on and uneven sidewalk again today and I ended up with skinned knees once again.

The sad part is this exact thing happened about a month ago as I am sure many of you remember and my knees were finally all healed with perfectly new skin to protect them. Then I go and skin them again requiring my poor knees to work excessively hard to try to repair themselves again. I didn't realize that one of the biggest challenges on my mission would be staying upright while trying to run on the sidewalk! :) It was pretty hilarious though! Hopefully this isn't my fate for the rest of my mission, to walk around with scabby knees!

Anyways, I hope you all have a fabulous week! Thanks again for all your incredible love and support! I can feel it strengthening and stabilizing me every moment of every day! :) Keep the faith and don't forget to smile!! :)

Love always,
 Sister Johnson :)

Hello everyone!!

Scripture for this Week
I don't have the whole verse with me but essentially it says we receive no witness (or miracle) until after the trial of our faith. - Ether 12:6.

I will admit that the last few weeks have definitely been a serious trial of my faith and I was definitely struggling. But at that moment when I was so done with life and everything and didn't think I could go a step further, I put complete trust in my Heavenly Father and he carried me through. And the last few days have been filled with miracle after miracle, big and small!!

Miracles for this Week
First miracle
We received a media referral (meaning he referred himself on mormon.org) who requested a Book of Mormon. His name is Shaun and we went by on Sunday to meet him and give him a copy. He was conveniently outside when we pulled up and we started talking. He had a friend from high school that recently married a member of the church and he joined as well so that peaked Shaun's interest. He has been searching for quite awhile but has never been fully satisfied. He knows a lot about the history of the church and is super interested in reading the Book of Mormon. We talked with him fro a solid half hour and taught him a little bit about the Book of Mormon and the Restoration. He agreed read a chapter in the Book of  Mormon and for us to come back on Friday to answer questions and teach him a little more. He is so awesome and definitely an answer to prayers.

Second miracle
Not even 2 hours later we went to contact another referral, April Smith. About a week ago, a member that used to live in this ward but recently moved to Hawaii, called and asked us to go see her friend April Smith and take her a Book of Mormon. We caught her home and proceeded to teach her about the Book of Mormon as well. She was really nice and interested. She has been going through some tough things lately and is hoping the Book of Mormon will help her. She also agreed to let us come back next week to teach her some more!
We also have 2 other really interested investigators we are teaching and the interesting thing is that all of 4 of these people have very strong connections with church through friends and they were intrigued by their examples and their testimonies! It's amazing the influence members have on their friends and those around them just by being a good person, a friend and an example!

Third miracle:
This is going to embarrass him a little bit but I received a letter from my older brother who recently turned 22 informing me that he got his patriarchal blessing a few weeks ago and has officially decided to serve a mission!!! This was the biggest and best miracle of all!! I am so excited he has decided to serve because I know that incredible blessings that come from serving a mission!! There are countless things that you learn each and every day and it is the most incredible, amazing, difficult, hardest and happiest time of your life! It's definitely a roller coaster but I am more than happy to be on it and diligently serving my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ! I am forever grateful for this opportunity to help my brothers and sisters know and understand that God loves each and every one of them so much and to show them the happiness and truth that can be found in this life as well as in the next!!

I am so grateful for each and everyone of you and all the support and love you have been given to me over the years and especially throughout my mission. I know that church is true and that is why I am more than happy to sacrifice a year and a half of my life to share that truth. I don't care how many doors get slammed in my face, how many people tell me no or look at me like I am a freak, I will not let it get me down or stop me. I know this work will continue to go forth and that nothing can stop it! We are on the winning team and we have numberless angels helping and strengthening us in this great work!! I love this gospel and I love my Savior!

Have a wonderful week!!!

Love always,
 Sister Johnson :)
