February 19th, 2014 - Hello!!

Hello everyone!!!

I have officially been out for 9 months, what? How in the world did that happen? It's crazy how fast it has gone by but I have loved every single minute of it!!! :)
This last week was great! We had tons of fun and then I got sick but that's ok because we have still been powering through everything!!
Lately I have been learning so much about how important it really is to enjoy life and just take it as is! :)

Miracle of the Week
The biggest miracles of this week is probably Dorothy. So Dorothy is the teacher of Liam Curtin who is autistic. She comes to the Curtins for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week to work with him. We have been dropping by conveniently every once in awhile at snack time to talk with her. It has definitely peaked her interest and we have been able to build a relationship.

Yesterday, when we weren't there, Sister Curtin outright told Dorothy that if she ever wanted to take the discussions from us, we were more than willing to teach her. She said she is curious because she has never learned much about us or what we believe in! I am super excited because she is so awesome and I know there was a reason for why she came into our life at this particular time and I can't wait to see her progress and learn!! :)

Everyone else is doing well. We met with Jill twice last week and she loves learning with us, she was unable to make it to church because she was sick but she said she will come this Sunday!

We also got back into contact with Eva Jackson who recently had gall bladder surgery so that is why she hasn't been able to make it to church. But she has been reading the Book of Mormon and want s to come to church as soon as she is feeling better! We also came back into contact with Joy Allen who told us all of her guy problems which was kinda funny but we just listened and related with her!! :)

Everything is going so well here and I hope and pray I can stay here at least one more transfer! I have already been here 9 months, what's another 6 weeks? :)
I love and miss you all! I love my mission with all my heart and I am so eternally grateful for everything I am learning each and every day!!! :)

Talk to you soon!!

Love always, Sister Britni Johnson :)

Playing with Sand at a member's house. It's not actual sand, it looks like it and molds like it but it also sticks together. I don't really know how to explain it but it is super cool and apparently way popular for kids and adults.

Suzanne-a crazy old lady that we have been working with and who I love to death! :)

Vicki!

Sis. Murry-the relief society president! :)

February 10th, 2014

Hello, hello!!!

I hope everyone is doing absolutely wonderful!!!
I have never seen so much snow in my life. All it ever does here lately is snow and i am a little sick of it but that's ok, I will survive!!

Quote of the Week:
"Things will work out Keep trying. Be believing. Be happy. Don't get discouraged. things will work out." -Pres. Hinckley

I am certainly learning this lately!! Things will always work out the way they are supposed to, we just need to trust in the Lord and learn to find joy in the journey!!! :)

Miracle for the Week
So this miracle isn't actually ours but the elders here in our area have been working with this woman named Shelly and she is so cute and awesome and I love her to death!! She is getting baptized the Saturday after next and I am so excited!!!

This week has been crazy!! No real progress with the people I talked about last week and not really anything new but things are still going great!!! We have one more week before transfers and we will just have to see what happens!! I don't even know what to expect anymore. But if I end up staying here one more transfer, I will break the record for being here the longest out of any missionaries within the last like 8-10 years!! That would be cool!!! :) I still love it here and I am happier than ever!
Out of time for the week, sorry!! I love you all! Stay warm and safe! :)
Love always, Sister Britni Johnson :)

Always having fun! :)

It is always snowing lately!!!

February 3rd, 2013

Hello everyone!! I have a little more time this week so I will update you!! :)

Quote of the Week: "Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence."
-Helen Keller.

I love this and am definitely learning this lately. Things have been so great because I am just learning to be happy and have complete faith and confidence that everything will work out because Heavenly Father is taking care of it all!! :) I am allowing myself to be happy and free from pointless stress so I can learn to enjoy my mission and love every second of life!! :)

Scripture of the Week"And my soul hungered; and I kneeled down before my maker, and I cried unto him in mighty prayer and supplication for mine own soul; and all the day long did I cry unto him; yea and when the night came I did still raise my voice high that it reached the heavens." Enos 1:4

Every where I turn lately it has been prayer, prayer and more prayer. I finally got the message and decided to not only pray more and depend more on the Lord, but also to make my prayers more sincere and meaningful. The change has been night and day and I absolutely love my prayer time so much now!!! :)

Miracles of the WeekThis week has been amazing! We were trying so hard to get someone to church and we weren't sure if it would happen, but all of a sudden, a woman named Jill texted us in the middle of branch council meeting and told us she would be ready for church at 9:30 and she would just need a ride. We couldn't believe it, so we got a ride and headed over to her house. We haven't really taught her at all and never gave her a Book of Mormon but she came to church and loved it! She has lots of questions so we set up to meet with her this week to answer her questions and give her a Book of Mormon. She recently quit smoking like a month ago because of her health and we know that we met her at this certain time for a reason and that is ready and prepared to hear our message and accept it!! I am so excited to see how it goes.

We also have a woman named Eva Jackson that we are working with. She is black and calls me baby girl which I love! She is the first black person I have ever taught and one of the only ones I have met in London. She is in her 50s and actually came to our church once about a year ago and loved it!! We met with her and committed her to reading the Book of Mormon. She wasn't able to make it to church but we will get her this week because we are singing a special musical number. I am excited to see what happens with Eva as well and I will definitely let you know!

I don't know what happened but all of a sudden we are finding all these people that are interested and ready to learn more and I know it is because we have been persevering patiently and working as hard as we can and it is so nice to finally see results again!! I am so happy and content with everything and I love missionary work! I am lost in the work and nothing feels better than that! I love you all and I know without a doubt that this is true. I can feel it in my heart and every part of my body and I hope you can all feel it as well! I love you so much! I miss you and I hope everything is going well! Talk to you soon!!

Love always, Sister Britni Johnson! :)
Kyrien Curtin-cutest baby ever and currently the love of my life! :)
