Happy Easter Everyone!!

You should all check out a video called "Because of Him". It's about Christ and it should be on youtube or at easter.mormon.org! You should check it out because it is so good and almost makes me cry every time!! :)
Things have been really good!!

Updates
Brandi got baptized!! It was like the most amazing day ever and things were jsut so fabulous!! She was glowing all day and she looked so incredibly happy! Her parents and one of her younger sister came which was so sweet of them! They are wonderful family and I am way excited to see what happens from here! :)
Not much else happened. There aren't really any other updates at this point.
Except our stake did this Easter activity/concert thing and we got a family to come with us that we have kind of been teaching. Her name is Marcia and she is so fun and happy! Her 2 kids and her husband came to the activity and absolutely loved it! It was perfect because they go to their own church but it was a good nonthreatening way to have them meet some members and get them into one of our church buildings. They are out of town right now but will be back next week so hopefully we can get them to church soon!

We went to the temple today and it was like the best day ever. I was so happy that I almost starting crying! The Spirit was absolutely amazing and it was exactly what I needed! I took some pictures but I accidentally left my camera in someone's car so I will send them next week!!
Well I am out of time this week but I hope everything is going well and I will talk to you all again soon!! :)
Love always, Sister Britni Johnson

Hello everyone!!!

Quote of the Week
"Far better is it to dare to do mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checked by failure...than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy mush nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." -Theodore Roosevelt.

This totally describes us as disciples of Jesus Christ because by taking His name upon us and making covenants with Him, we are daring to do mighty things and choosing not to live an easy, comfortable life with no growth or progress. We must stand up and be willing to do the hard things and stay strong no matter what gets thrown at us because we are showing our love and dedication and there is no failure in the eyes of the Lord. What counts is your willingness and work that you put into doing His work.

Updates for the Week
Heather- She got baptized on Saturday and confirmed yesterday!! She completely quit smoking and is now         washed clean and ready to start on the path back to our Heavenly Father. It was so touching and sweet to be a part of it!

Brandi-Came to 3 baptisms with us in 2 days and even sang in two musical numbers with us. We were talking to her on Saturday and she said that one of the baptisms just hit her, she knows she needs to be baptized. She is set to be baptized this Saturday at 4:00 p.m. !!!! Just in time for new member baptisms at the temple next Saturday which we get to go to with her!! Sister Malloy and I both started crying when she decided on this Saturday because it is so exciting!! She is ready and knows without a doubt that this is the true church and where she needs to be!! She is solid and ready and once she joins, she is going nowhere!! She is here to stay! And she is the pioneer in her family. Her decision is going to bless her family, posterity and many generations to come. It is truly incredible to be a part of it and to be able to be the instrument in the Lord's hands bearing this message and bringing the Spirit with us to help this people find their way back home!! :)

Mike-He is doing well. He has a lot of questions and concerns that need to be addressed and answered so he is going to take some time and patience but he is reading the Book of Mormon and praying so he is going in the right direction!

Things are going great and we are learning to just work hard and show our diligence and faith, that is when the miracles come and things start to happen!! :)

I hope all is well back home! I love you all and pray for you frequently!! :)

Love always, Sister Britni Johnson :)

 Beautiful day for swinging

Heather's baptism! :)

Hello everyone!!

I hope you all enjoyed conference because I sure did. It was so weird because every single talk that was given seemed to be written and spoken directly for me! There was so much in there that was exactly what I needed to hear and I couldn't believe it. I am so rejuvenated and ready to go!! One of my favorite parts was probably

Elder Holland when he said that being a disciple of Jesus Christ will NEVER be easy!! We knew it wouldn't be easy when we made the choice to find the truth and stand up for it! Our god is not a comfortable god because otherwise there would be no growth or progression. Things aren't supposed to be easy or comfortable, but with the love of God and the strength of Christ on our side, we can do anything! I am a disciple of Jesus Christ and I will always stand up for what I believe in and know to be true no matter what the circumstances may be or how hard it may become!! :)

Quote of the Week

"Keep the commandments. Walk in the light. Endure to the end. Be true to every covenant and obligation, and the Lord will bless you beyond your fondest dreams."-Joseph Fielding

Smith, Our purpose and mission is clear and simple. That does not mean it will be easy but you had better believe that it will be worth it!! :)

Updates
Heather- She got married last weekend and hasn't smoked for a week!! As of right now, she is on track to get baptized this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. The only thing that will stop that is if she slips up but she is determined and praying for strength and the rest of us are praying for her and doing all we can to help keep her busy to overcome this addiction once and for all!

Brandi- She is still doing strong and absolutely loved General Conference! With here, she knows it's true and will be baptized, it is just a matter of when. I am definitely learning patience but consistency. I admire her desire to truly know that this is true because when she gets baptized, she is here to stay and not going anywhere.

Mike- We met him a little over a week ago and he said we could come back. We went back last Wednesday to teach him the restoration and he liked it. He has some questions and concerns but he said we could come back so we are going back to teach him the Plan of Salvation today. I think he really does want to know if this is true, the only tricky thing with him is he works weekend nights. But he is going to try to come to church this Sunday so we will see.

Lastly a Miracle
So yesterday we watched the morning session of General Conference at the church and then we had a quick lesson with Heather. Then we were left with an awkward 45 minute period of time which we weren't quite sure what to do. We easily could have just hung out at the church a little longer until the next session of conference started but we decided to go out and make the most of the time we had. The first person we went to visit wasn't home so we went to our back-up plan. We planned to see a less active member but it turns out he has moved. But his son answered the door and we started talking to him. He was nice enough but seemed a little standoffish at first.

I had a pounding headache so I kind of let Sister Malloy take over at first but then all of a sudden I got a very strong impression that I needed to bear testimony about the importance of having a personal relationship with God and how the message of the restoration can help you with that. Then I asked him if we could come back to talk with him more about how he can gain a personal relationship with God and he said yes! We set up to go back and teach him this Wednesday. We said a prayer with him and then left.

When we were walking away, Sister Malloy gave me a fistbump. She said that she had felt like we needed to focus on a personal relationship with God as well and so she had hinted at it a little bit and it led right into it for me to bear testimony. That simple miracle taught me a few powerful lessons. First off, Heavenly Father is acutely aware of each one of us and exactly what we need. He knew what David needed and he knew what we needed and he blessed us both.

Also, we are always blessed for our diligence and faith. We had decided to make the most of our time and we were blessed because of it. And thirdly, we had been praying hard to be able to find more people to teach and it seemed a little discouraging for awhile but we have been able to find a few people lately and I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. He is ins this work and he is with each and every one of us every single day!!! Miracles are happening all around us constantly, we just have to look for them in faith and gratitude! :)

I love this gospel and I love my mission!! Things are so amazing!! I love and miss you all and I hope things are absolutely wonderful!! :)

Love always, Sister Britni Johnson :)

*Shandice Update*

Thank you so much to everyone who was able to help with the book! I have added some pictures of it below! All of your wonderful notes are going to mean to so much to her!

Hello everyone!!

So we got transfer calls and we are both staying!!! Yay!!! Welcome to the best transfer ever!! :)

Quote of the Week

"I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not shrink to a grain of sand."
This is how I feel each new place on my mission. I love to look for all the new pieces I can pick up and add to myself to help me grow into a mountain in Christ! :)

Scripture of the Week"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into he marvelous light." - 1 Peter 2:9
This quote describes each and every one of us for the time that we were chosen to live on the Earth and the influence we can be to out brothers and sisters around us!! My favorite part is the peculiar people, that is certainly true for missionaries! :)

Updates
Brandi- She was unavailable for a week because her sister was in town but she came to the General Women's broadcast and loved it so much!! :) She had goosebumps the whole time and was almost in tears because of the Spirit that was there!!
